THE
CONISTON FELLS
Dave Mulligan, Jim Redfern, Hilary Robertson The Coniston Fells CD-ROM includes ascents of Coniston Old Man, Dow Crag, Caw, Swirl How, Great Carrs, Greyfriar, Low Fell, Holme Fell, and Wetherlam, plus walks on the Blawith Fells, Torver High and Low Commons, the Coniston Lake shore, the Tarn Hows area, and the Dunnerdale Valley, with approaches from Coniston, Torver, Dunnerdale, Tilberthwaite, and Little Langdale. Every walk has an active sketch map and is illustrated with photos showing paths, points of interest, and places to get lost, plus lots of grid references! There is a master map which allows you go to any walk, town or village, plus a location map to let you "travel" anywhere in the area. There are over 1000 pictures, excellent sections on Flowers, Geology, History and Prehistory, Copper mines, Coniston Slate, Donald Campbell, Local Attractions, Towns and Villages, the Old Railway, Safety on the Fells, a large Photo Gallery including panoramic views, etc. etc.. It ended up much bigger than we planned, but it developed a life of it's own! |

These are copies from the Coniston Fells CD-ROM, but without any links. Because of the images you may find them slow to download over the web, but from your CD-ROM drive they will be much faster. |
