Clints and Grikes
Ingleborough with Clints and Grikes
1999  Clints and Grikes are one of the classic features of the water-eroded limestone of the Ingleborough Triangle. Clints are the slabs - grikes are the gaps between. I remember this as "Clints have grikes in them"! This is the beautiful Southercales area, which you pass through on the ascent of Ingleborough (in the distance) from Chapel-le-Dale.
