1999 The Longsleddale valley, north of Kendal in Cumbria, is my favourite
valley from childhood. On this brilliant summer's day in 1999 the greens
were almost "Irish" in their intensity. When I was a boy there was a proposal
to route what is now the M6 along this valley!!!!
