Silhouetted tree near Whinfell Beacon
Silhouetted Tree - Borrowdale
18th December 1999  An afternoon in Borrowdale, but not the famous one by Keswick. This Borrowdale runs from the Lune Gorge by the Howgill Fells into the Shap fells. It wasn't the most photogenic of days - dull and overcast throughout but it didn't rain and it wasn't cold. We started from the (very pretty) Tebay end and climbed to to (hideous) repeater station on the ridge by Whinfell Beacon. On the way we met this tree - looking like a scene from The Lord of The Rings.
