2000 The actual walk was up Tilberthwaite Ghyll, over Low Fell, and
then Holme Fell, before descending back to Tilberthwaite. The Coniston
Fells, particularly on the Coniston side, are riddled with mines and quarries,
which can be very dangerous. This is where we lost one of our number (number
13). This shaft is filled to the brim with rainwater, and is at least as
deep as the walking stick - probably very much deeper. A big "Thank you"
to whoever covered it up. It's indistinguishable from a puddle.
