June 2000 We set off late in the afternoon for an evening's walk
to Great Carrs from Little Langdale, where there was brilliant sunshine.
As we walked towards the mountains the clouds billowed over from the west.
By timing their shadows crossing Little Langdale I estimated their speed
at over 100 kilometres per hour. We decided to go to Tilberthwaite instead
- where it was beautiful and sunny, and almost no wind. And on the photo,
which we only saw much later, there was a SIGN!
