March 2000 From Coniston to the Walna Scar Road, the Coppermines
valley, a look at the Pudding Stone and the old slate workings, up to Coniston
Old Man, Brim Fell, Swirl How, Great Carrs, Grey Friar, Swirl How again,
and down to Levers Water and back through the Coppermines Valley to Coniston.
Approaching the summit of Coniston Old Man there was a moment of magic
when the sun broke through to light up Low Water - a long way below. You
can just glimpse Levers Water in the distance.
