April 2000 Not the best of weather days - lowish cloud and a bit
dark, so we didn't bother with the higher stuff. Instead a relaxing stroll
along a lane and then a track to Swinside farm, and, next to it, Swinside
Stone Circle. We started by ambling around Ulverston, now sadly with many
wonderful old shops for sale due to ta new superstore. After settling in
to the beautiful village of Broughton-in-Furness we went to Swinside Stone
Circle. Aubrey Burle thinks it's the most beautiful in England. He could
well be right.
