April 2000 One of the most distinctive profiles in the Lake District,
the Langdale Pikes can be recognised fro more than 50 miles away. In this
case it's a little easier - only a few miles away. Walking from Skelwith
Bridge to Elterwater village, and then to Grasmere. A mixed day of sun
and cloud - multitudes of people in the Langdale Valley, but few and far
between on the paths to Grasmere.
