July 2001 From the New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel, disinfecting our feet by Stickle
Barn, we toiled up to Stickle Tarn, climbed Pavey Ark by Jack's Rake, then
crossed to Harrison Stickle then to Pike O'Stickle. A very hot day, and,
as the afternoon progressed, the clouds cleared to let through some brilliant
sunshine. Here we are looking down at the head of Great Langdale, with
the sun reflecting in the river and a sea of brilliant greens on the valley
floor.
