Dock is on the Lune Estuary, where the Lune finally completes its long
journey from St. Helens Well at Newbiggin-on-Lune, all those miles away.
It is a functioning small port, with a large marina, a canal "terminus"
(if that's the right word), and the end of a long lost railway branch line
from Lancaster - now part of an excellent cycleway.
