Museum is one of several fine civic buildings in the small (but historic!)
city of Lancaster, close to the Lune estuary. And, while on the subject
of history, Lancaster is derived from "Lune Castle", dating back to Roaman
Times. While there is now a fine (but definitely post-Roman) castle, there
is still an excellent example of Roman under floor heating to be found
close by. But most locals will probably not know where it is. Test the
Tourist Information Centre!
