Cortijo de Valdihuelo and Pinar
9th April 2001 - Not the most successful day for us as we were eventually beaten back by vanishing paths and hostile undergrowth. But the area close to Benamahoma was quite verdant and full of fascinating insects (for those who are fascinated by insects) and often stunningly beautiful. This is one of several ruined farmhouses (cortijos) in the area, with the magnificent limestone peak of Pinar (in the Pinaspar Biosphere zone) as a backdrop.
