a ride along the Settle to Carlisle Railway is usually brilliant, you do
miss the many splendid villages along the way, apart from fleeting glances
from the train. Stainforth is in Ribblesdale, up the valley from Langcliffe
and Ribblehead, and down the valley from Horton-in-Ribblesdale.
