Crib Goch from Y Lliwedd
23rd July 1999   Crib Goch, seen here from Y Lliwedd across Llyn Llydaw, is simply the most intimidating mountain in Wales, because of the narrow exposed ridge along its summit, and another tricky bit much lower on the ascent from Pen y Pas. I went round the Snowdon horseshoe clockwise. This is a mistake. It is much easier ascending Crib Goch than descending it. I didn't see another soul going my way but literally hundreds going anti-clockwise.
