Rowton Pot - Kingsdale
6th September 2001 The valley of Kingsdale in the Yorkshire Dales is full of Pot Holes - natural shafts falling into the limestone below. Some are safely fenced off, but Rowton Pot is not, and  both entrances have substantial drops. The nearer on this picture has a free fall of over 200 feet, while the further entrance is not as shear, but those are the tops of tall trees that you can see! From the far side you can (with considerable care) see a waterfall in the pothole, but keep children and dogs sedated or bound and gagged! Rowton Pot is a SERIOUS pothole - don't go in!
