NY 311011 Holme Ground. Through gate on right hand side of road. Follow  track south and then turn back left up rising track. Pass through gate into woods then fork right uphill, through trees to open fell terrain.

NY314012 Woods to Holme Fell summit. Follow clear path southwest. Path becomes indistinct. Gradually swing southeast climbing towards rockier summit. Good views of Langdale Pikes, Coniston Fells, and Coniston Lake. 
Crags to the south and west are dangerous - use a compass in mist.

NY 315006 Holme Fell Summit. Follow path north from summit with crag on right. In area of many paths head north for very pretty tarn at NY 316011.

NY 316011 Tarn to car park.  Follow track north down through woods. At the foot of the hill turn left and return along the track to Holme Ground. Turn left along the road. Follow footpath on the right after houses. Go through gate then stone stile in left hand corner of field. Follow waymark left and then left over stile into woods. Over stile turn right onto route from car park
