We have very little information on Littledale Church, which is situated out of sight in a field in the Littledale valley above Caton in Lancashire.. We understand that it was built for the Dodson family of Littledale Hall, but fell into disuse and is now used as a rather up-market barn!

We also couldn't read the last line of the inscription shown below: Littledale Free Church

So - many thanks to Malcolm Walker and his keen-eyed aunt who could see that the inscription reads:

"He is the head Col 1 xviii"
