Berliner Dom EU18 The Berliner Dom Cathedral is situated in what used to be East Berlin. A relatively modern building, it was built between 1895 and 1905 on a site where a church has stood since 1747.

While it is considered by some to be a Gothic monstrosity, it is nevertheless an impressive building, being 116 m tall and 114 m long, and was thought of as a Protestant equivalent to St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican.
