MALLOW FAMILY

Musk Mallow is surely one of our most attractive wild flowers, with its delicate pink luxuriant blossoms. A native perennial found throughout most of England and Wales it is less common elsewhere. It has a history of being used in poultices and cough mixtures. It is distinguished from other Mallows by having deeply cut leaves.

Flower: Little to big rich pink flowers 25 to 60 mm across with 5 petals in loose spikes or clusters.
Leaves: Deeply cut, long-stalked
Habitat: Grassland, hedge banks, scrub
Height to about 80 cm
Typically flowering: July - August
